Don Clark, highly respected television anchor/reporter, has endorsed Mary Helen Barro in the race to represent the 23rd Congressional District in the United States Congress.  Barro courageously resolved to run against overwhelming odds while marching with Kern County High School students in the national quest to end school violence.

Clark recently said, “I’ve known Mary Helen Barro as a true friend for three decades.  She has always been a leader who brings people from all sides together in a positive spirit to get good things done.  In my view, America urgently needs her kind of hopeful leadership.”

Barro said, “I’m so proud to have the support of a man I’ve always deeply admired.  He and I know we don’t agree on all issues, but we respect each other’s opinions, we listen carefully to each other’s perspectives, and together we both seek positive paths toward the best solutions.”

Don’s lovely life partner of 40 years, Bettie, is a highly intelligent and deeply principled woman.  Together, they have always been a loving and giving couple to everyone around them.

I’m so honored that Don and Bettie are hosting a special ADULTS ONLY “Meet and Greet” gathering for me under a big tent next Saturday, April 28, from 5 to 9 p.m., at their rustic ranch at 501 Kenmar Lane south of Arvin.

You’re all invited to come casual and enjoy a feast of hot dogs, hamburgers, and all the trimmings, served poolside.

If it’s a warm day, bring your bathing suit, change in the bathhouse, and enjoy a frolic in the lighted pool.

OR: Take 99 to Bear Mountain Boulevard, route 223, and head east through Arvin to the Railroad Tracks.  Turn right at the tracks heading south.  Go 5 miles to Kenmar Lane, turn left, go to the end of Kenmar, turn right on dirt road, heading south, go 500 yards to the Clark’s.
